Zain Sarinda gets the ball rolling for 2022
ZAIN Sarinda got us off the mark for 2022 when winning an extended nine-furlong maiden at Wolverhampton on Monday evening.
The son of Churchill, owned by Elbashir Elhrari, was fourth on his only previous start and stepped up on that effort to win convincingly.
Jockey Luke Morris was able to slide accross from his wide draw and always had Zain Sarinda in a good position, tracking the pace setter.
On turning for home, it looked brieftly if Zain Sarinda was in trouble when the second favourite Base Note drew upsides but he had too much for that rival and galloped powerfully through the line, winning by nearly two lengths.
Tom said: "It is always great to get the first winner of the year in the bag. This colt has always worked nicely and did it well. He stayed the trip strongly and will be a nice horse for connections to enjoy on turf."
