Runners, reflections and looking ahead

Having already been to Goffs Uk, we are looking forward to heading to the inagural Tattersalls Ireland Ascot yearling sale which takes place next Tuesday. Yearlings sold there are eligible for the Tattersalls Book 3 sales race which offers owners the opportunity to race for the big bucks.

On the runners front, we were thrilled with Maestro Mac's good second on unsuitably soft conditions at Goodwood on Tuesday and Archie's fast finishing effort at Haydock yesterday. Tomorrow Declarationoflove will be a first Group runner for us in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton. Owned by Adam Signy. Stephen Short and Ian Barratt, he failed to fire at York last time out but prior to that had finished a good second in the Super Sprint at Newbury.

Tom said: "Declarationoflove didn't run his race at York - whether it was the sticky ground or he just had an off day - we'll see but he has come back in great form and we know he is much better than that effort. His second at Newbury is good form and his run that day suggested that six furlong would be within his stamina compass. He has a bit to find on ratings but he deserves a crack and can hopefully outrun his odds."‚Äč

Looking ahead - Castle Talbot, Obrigada, Balgair and Gold Club could all represent the yard next week.
