Rogue Bear and Balgair hit the target
ROGUE BEAR and Balgair have both been in the winners' enclosure over the last couple of days continuing the yard's good form in October.
Owned by the Rogues Gallery, Rogue Bear landed the feature mile handicap at Nottingham under a power-packed ride by David Egan.
The son of Kodiac is now three wins from five starts including two over this course and distance. It was heart in the mouth stuff however, with Rogue Bear coming from well off the pace to force a deat heat on the line.
Yard favourite Balgair was winning for the sixth time and landed the ten-furlong handicap at Chelmsford on Thursday evening for the Newmarket Racing Club.
The son of Foxwedge was unwell in the summer and as a result has had a quiet season. He was given a lovely ride by champion jockey Oisin Murphy and won smoothly by three-quarters of a length.
Tom said: "We've had a good October and the horses are in great form. Rogue Bear overcame tacky ground to win and I think he will be a lovely horse for his owners next year - one to target some big hanidcaps with.
"It was lovely to see Balgair back in the winners' enclosure - we nearly lost him in the summer and to see him winning again was very special. He was off a winnable mark and the race has worked perfectly for him."
