Raajil impresses again

RAAJIL ran out an impressive winner of the 7f Novice event at Wolverhampton yesterday evening.

The son of Awtaad, carrying the colours of Mike Bringloe, was carrying a 7lb penalty for his previous Southwell novice win back on stable debut in December.

He had trained well since that victory and came into the race as the 11-8 favourite.

Jockey Jack Mitchell was able to get a good tow into the race by the runner-up Flately and that rival looked as though he had stolen the race by kicking off the bend.

However, Jack had a willing partner in Raajil and he powered down the outide to get up in the dying strides, winning by a length.

Tom said: "That was a smart performance. He has carried a penalty and the sharp 7f was probably a little on the quick side. I'm looking forward to stepping him up to a mile."
