Monsieur Lambrays on target at Wolves
Owned by Gill Habershon-Butcher, the son of Champs Elysees has been hitting the crossbar in recent runs and deserved this breakthrough success.
He was given a cracking ride by Tom Marquand who, having broken slowly from the stall, moved his mount up to sit second in what was a slowly run race.
From some way out it looked between us and the odds-on favourite Mojave and the pair engaged in battle turning the final bend.
With experience on his side, Monsieur Lambrays out-gunned that rival to win conviningly at the line by three-quarters of a length.
Tom said: "The horse deserved that. He has taken a long time to get the hang of racing and ofter runs in snatches. Tom has given him a grear ride. He stays well and can hopefully build on this."
