Holy Kingdom eases to HQ success
Owned by the Rogues Gallery Syndicate, Holy Kingdom had been progressive last season and picked up where he left off with a decent performance under James Doyle.
With the race taking place during a deluge, James was keen to get Holy Kingdom switched off and he did so beautifully towards the rear of the field.
He gradually crept closer up the straight until making his move with a furlong to run. He took over the running inside the closing stages and went on to record a cosy length and three quarter success.
Tom said: "Holy Kingdom has really thrived from three to four and is a lovely colt with a good profile. He stays well but has plenty of pace and I was impressed with how well he travelled through the race today.
"If he comes out this well, we could consider Royal Ascot for him - either the Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap or the Copper Horse Handicap over a mile and three quarters.
"I am thrilled for his owners and all the staff at home. It's been a tough couple of months for everyone and I have been incredibly grateful for their support."
