Gypsy goes down fighting at Lingfield

WE have had a quiet week or so on the runners front but are looking forward to sending out a few runners over the next few days. The week has started well with Gypsy Spirit running a good race to be third in a 6f novice fillies' event at Lingfield.

She was forced to carry a penalty for her Windsor win and was drawn widest of all in stall 8 but she raced professionally and stayed on well to finish third.

Tomorrow we have declared Free Love for a 5f Fillies' maiden  and Hunni for a mile fillies' handicap both at Nottingham. Free Love suffered from stage fright on her debut at Kempton and got left in the stalls but her homework has been good and we hope she can run well for her owners.

Hunni was bogged down at Salisbury on her first run of 2018 and is stepping up markedly in trip. She has been training well and if she can reproduce her form from last season, she should be competitive off a mark of 75.

On Thursday, Pheidippides heads to Wolverhampton for his handicap debut over a mile. He finished fourth when last seen in a red-hot novice event at Chelmsford and is another who should be in the mix.
