Fourth win for Broughtons Gold and 'black type' for Fairy Dust
BROUGHTONS Gold made it four wins from six starts when taking the seven-furlong handicap at Newmarket on Saturday.
The son of Lethal Force, owned and bred by Mr Michael Brougton, has won at Newbury and Windsor already this season and stepped up again to win in the hands of Hayley Turner.
Hayley settled Broughtons Gold in the midfield where he relaxed into a good rhythm. He was stuck behind runners with two furlongs to run but was still full of running and when the gap came, he quickened up well to win by a head.
Tom said: "He is a smashing horse - we were worried about the faster ground today but the 8mls they put on on Friday has taken the jar out of it and we decided to roll the dice.
"He is strengthening all the time and saw out the seven furlongs well. He is such a big horse - there should be more to come from him"
Fairy Dust capped a good weekend for the team when finishing second in the Listed St Hugh's Stakes at Newbury on Sunday. This 12,000gns purchase was a winner at Windsor last time out and took the step up in grade in her stride only going down narrowly under Jack Mitchell.
