Crystallium lands Newbury prize

CRSYALLIUM kept her unbeaten record intact when landing the 7f fillies' conditions event at Newbury this afternoon.

The daughter of Expert Eye, owned by Paul Hancock and Elaine Nolan, won a novice at Chelmsford on debut last month and stepped up on that to defy a penalty in good style.

She settled beautifully under David Egan just on the heels on the leader Wyoming. The leader kicked with three furlongs to run and Crystallium went in pursuit. She really knuckled down well and mastered her rival well inside the final furlong, winning by a length.

Tom said: "She is a lovely filly - her work has been good and she has a really great attitude. I love how she gets her head down and she has hit the line strong in both her starts. To give weight away in a deep race was very impressive and we'll be looking to get some black type with her now."
