Celsius wins at Haydock
The son of Dragon Pulse, owned by Jon Collins, Chris Fahy and Steve Piper, had failed to trouble the judge on three starts last season but has always worked well at home and overcame greeness to score well.
He was keen in the early stages but travelled well and moved strongly through the pack, hitting the front with two furlongs to go.
He edged left inside the closing stages but ran on gamely to win by a length and a half.
Tom said: "He has always shown promise at home but was just too keen in his races last season. With the aid of a tongue-tie and hood, he raced better today and the drop back to five (furlongs) has really helped. He has plenty of speed and can hopefully progress from this.
"I am thrilled for his owners; Chris, Jon and Steve, who have been very patient."
