Celsius and Jumbeau keep up the hot-streak
CELSIUS and Jumbeau kept up the good strike-rate of the yard with victories at Ascot and Brighton respectively.
Yard favourite Celsius returned after seven months off the track to land the 5f handicap at Ascot under Jack Mitchell.
He wasn't right last season and had slid to a favourable mark - this combined with stalls work with Craig Witherford meant that Celsius was rejuvinated and he made nearly all the running to win by three quarters of a length.
It was our first winner at the famous venue and to do so with a horse who has now won six times for us was very special.
This week also saw us send out our first two-year-old runner of the season in Jumbeau who raced for LPOG and Partners. She won the 5f restriced novice at Brighton picking up a £10k GBB bonus in the process.
Hayley Turned did the steering and it was a promising debut win by this daughter of Brazen Beau.
Tom said: "We nearly lost Celsius last season so to get him back to winning at a place like Ascot is a real credit to the horse. He has been a real star for us and his owners over the years.
"Jumbeau had been working nicely and we had hoped she'd go well. She was very professional and is a likable filly."
