Aye Catcher is just that at Lingfield
AYE CATCHER finished with a late rattle to win the five-furlong nursery handicap at Lingfield on Tuesday afternoon.
The daughter of Showcasing has been plagued with bad draws all season but was finally able to capitalise from being drawn in stall three under a perfect Jack Mitchell ride.
She was settled towards the rear of the field but the pace was a frantic one and it paid to race with restraint.
On rounding the final bend Jack edged Aye Catcher into the centre of the track and she motored down the outside to win by a length.
Tom said: "This filly has been really unlucky and would have been second last time out had she not been carried wide. She has done it well and can hopefully gain in confidence from this.
"I am thrilled for her enthusiastic owners."
