A notable first for Charlie Clover as Dutch romps to Newbury success
Charlie, who has ridden winners in the point-to-point sphere, was having his third ride on the flat and was always to the fore on this 25/1 chance.
Having travelled strongly he surged clear with two furlong to run - relishing the soft underfoot conditions and winning by 11 lengths.
Tom said: "It was a great thrill for every one - this horse is a star - he has some smart form from back in the day notably when third to Time Test over course and disance. He is well handicapped and loves that ground.
"I'm delighted for Charlie - he rides out every day and this is much deserved. Hopefully the first of many!"
